The appropriate version for your system

AS-Interface devices are either connected directly via the AS-Interface flat-ribbon conductor or as a particularly compact device via an M12 connection for AS-Interface. The I/O devices for AS-Interface with IP67 protection are meant for use directly in the field.

• The devices with M12-I/O connection excel, thanks to innovative, tool-free connection technology on the AS-Interface system. This enables easy handling and as such, reduces the connection times.
• The AS-Interface M8 devices are characterized by their compact structure. The devices are perfect for mounting on profiles or directly in a machine, even where space is tight.

Versatile mounting options

The AS-Interface I/O devices from Phoenix Contact can be flexibly mounted. On level surfaces, use standard M4 screws for fixing. As an alternative, the devices with M12-I/O connection can also be snapped onto DIN rails.

 

Tool-free connection

The concept behind the AS-Interface system is wonderfully simple: press the flat-ribbon conductors into the guide aids, then close the locking mechanism and the devices are connected.

The principle: metal pins pierce through the flat-ribbon conductor sheath to make contact with the conductors. This piercing method ensures fast connection, without the need for additional tools.

 

AS-Interface for the control cabinet

As well as I/O slaves, an AS-Interface network comprises other system components:

• AS-Interface master (gateway)
• AS-Interface power supply unit

In addition to components for field installation with IP67 protection, we also offer other AS-Interface I/O slaves with IP20 protection for the control cabinet.
